Governing document

The charity is governed by its CIO constitution, which sets out the objects, powers and procedures of the organisation. A copy of the constitution is available on request.

Trustees

The charity is governed by a board of trustees who meet regularly to oversee the strategic direction, financial management and operational governance of the organisation.

Trustees are required to act in the charity’s best interests, to manage its resources responsibly, and to apply reasonable care and skill to the decisions they take. They are also responsible for ensuring the charity operates within its constitution and meets its obligations under charity law.

Because the charity has no paid staff, trustees give their time in the same way as everyone else on the team: around work, family and other commitments. Between them, the board brings experience from many walks of life, and the balance of skills is reviewed as vacancies arise.

Trustees serve in a voluntary capacity and do not receive any remuneration, payment or benefit from the charity.
